After years of aches and pains Scott helped me figure out that I was recommended the wrong sized bike, has saved me a costly mistake purchasing the wrong bike size, solved my pain and renewed my love for cycling. I strongly recommend getting a fit BEFORE buying a new bike, the service was excellent at Kernow Physio and I cannot recommend Scott enough!
After still having pain on the bike and being unhappy with my position even after a 3-hour bike fit from another bike fitter (not all fitters are equal) I suspected that my frame size was too big. I was purchasing a new bike and despite multiple bike shops and my previous fitter advising me that I was correctly sized on a medium I still had pain while riding.
As a last attempt to solve my issue and being a little apprehensive about bike fits after my experiences I reached out to Scott to investigate my issue from a physio’s point of view. Upon arriving my concerns were eased as it was clear Scott knew what he was doing and had lots of experience both as a physio and as a bike fitter. After a thorough assessment of my physiology off the bike he used this information to inform my position on the bike, he assessed my current bike position using a kickr bike and video analysis software and concluded I was more suited to a small frame. This initial size assessment was completed in just over 1 hour and quickly found the issue that the previous 3-hour fit did not. When the kickr bike was moved into a more suitable position I had that “aha” moment and was amazed at the comfort.
Once I purchased a new bike, I followed up with a full fit with Scott using the previous determined position, tweaking my cleats along with some custom orthotic foot beds helped solve a knee issue I had been having and have been enjoying riding more ever since!
